Cyre’S BIO

Background

My name is Cyre Virgo and I am in my final year in my graduate program at the University of North Texas at Dallas majoring in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am originally from Pennsylvania and moved to Texas in 2015 where I was a student-athlete at Texas Tech University. Counseling has been a passion of mine for many years, but from my own personal experience of learning the importance of mental health and understanding the impact it can have on my performance as an athlete and my everyday life is what ultimately drew me into the field. Outside of pursuing my career, my hobbies include traveling and spending time with my family and friends. I chose Total Life Counseling as my practicum site due to how they foster the growth of their employees and prioritizes patient care. I also wanted to be a part of an organization that displays a family atmosphere and to have a supervisor that had the same clientele interests as I do. During my practicum with Total Life Counseling, I hope to strengthen my counseling skills, learn how to be an effective counselor through experience and feedback, understand the function of a private practice, and form wonderful relationships with the people I will be working with. 

Education

Cyre earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Kinesiology from Texas Tech University. She earned a Masters degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Motor Behavior and Exercise and Sport Psychology from Texas Tech University. She is currently working on her Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and plans to graduate in December 2023.
